Samples of Interim Assessment

The following is a sample of the feedback for an interim assessment to Foundation Certificate students:

The task under assessment is a project wherein the students had to submit a poster/painting/design for a comptetion entitled 'why I am happy to be in the world'. The candidates had to focus on the theme with paritcular reference to drug awareness and the prevention of legal and illegal drug addiction. This was given to the students as part of their task on which they were assesed prior to being sent to the organisers.

Student 1
The original idea is good. The development of the concept is quite good but could have been better developed. You have to pay more attention to presentation. The work was chosen to be sent to the competition.

Student 2
The poster was presented on time. The original idea is good. The development of the concept is good and well developed. However your drawing has room for improvement. The work was chosen to be sent to the competition.

Student 3
First submission was referred due to the poor quality of the poster. The second submission was better. The original idea is good and you managed to make use of popular a work of art and apply the theme of prevention to drug addiction well into it.

Student 5
The idea was good however it could have been better develped. Work with photoshop is promising, however you need to work more on developing the concept.

Student 6
The concept is good however you were supposed to inspire yourself from a work of art from history. You could have produced a better idea and you could have developed it far better than you did. Your illustrations are however good and can be used for a different context.

Student 7
The original idea is good however it had to be better developed. The evolution of the concept hould have been better handled. Try to be more creative in the development of your ideas.

Student 8
You had a very original idea however, you did not develop it properly. If you had dedicated more time on working with photoshop you would have produced a much better work, which would have been more effective. The work was chosen for the competition.
